OIL TYCOONBUILD YOUR OWN WAY
THE OPERATOR’S FIELD GUIDE

First pump.
First good decision.

You do not need to learn everything at once. Start with one customer, understand the margin, then plan the next delivery.

01 / GET STARTED

Your first shift

You begin with TD 3000, 500 L regular gasoline and 250 L diesel. Your first job is to turn that stock into profitable service.

  1. Enter your station. Connect your wallet and sign in. If station access asks for a deed, use the account console to link an existing deed or mint one during beta.
  2. Open Prices. Compare the price per liter with the fuel cost and customer acceptance estimate.
  3. Serve a driver. Wait for a car to align at the pump, then choose Fuel vehicle in the request panel. Clicking the waiting car also starts fueling. The completed receipt confirms the sale.
  4. Read your results. Open Company → Operating report. After 5 resolved customer visits, including price rejections and stockouts, the operating day closes automatically and its costs are settled.
02 / SELL WITH A MARGIN

Revenue is not profit.

Higher prices improve margin per accepted sale, but more drivers may leave. Cheap fuel can win customers while leaving too little to pay the bills. Check both margin and acceptance.

EXAMPLE · 25 L REGULAR · STARTING REFERENCE COST

Revenue at TD 3.29/LTD 82.25

Fuel cost at TD 2.45/L− TD 61.25

Gross profit before running costsTD 21.00

The actual margin uses your stored fuel’s average cost. Rent, utilities, insurance, wages and maintenance still need to be paid. A full cash register is not the same thing as a profitable day.

03 / STOCK BEFORE YOU RUN OUT

Keep fuel moving.

Open Supply to compare suppliers, delivery time, quantity and the cash left after buying. The Tank Cover Planner helps estimate upcoming demand. Keep a reserve for the bills rather than spending every TD on stock.

Only one tanker can be active at a time. Your purchase becomes usable fuel when unloading finishes. Reserved player-market stock is not available to sell at the pump.

A customer wants more than I have. What now?

A genuine shortage may allow one 8 L Emergency Fill if you still have at least 8 L available. It earns only the ordinary fuel margin, and the unmet request still counts against stock reliability. It is a recovery option, not a bonus.

04 / KEEP THE PUMPS WORKING

Automation has a running cost.

Open Crew to check dispenser and tank condition. An attendant unlocks auto service; staff need wages. A technician helps with equipment costs. Hire when your margin can support the payroll.

Maintenance protects working equipment. Repair brings failed equipment back online. Neglect can stop service even while you still have fuel and cash.

05 / EARN THE NEXT CHAPTER

Grow at the pace of your business.

Company shows your current goal, reputation and upgrade access. Build a record of service, then choose upgrades and Contracts & property. Daily mandates reward different operating styles: volume, margin and reliability.

Later, the Operating Network adds depots, hubs and roadhouses with acquisition costs and daily upkeep. More buildings do not automatically mean more profit: demand and dispatch still matter.

06 / KNOW YOUR BALANCES

TD runs the station. OTY connects players.

Tycoon Dollars come from ordinary business activity and pay for supply and operating costs. Only eligible, verified net profit that clears the holding policy can become Liquid TD for supported player exchange. Starting reserves and pending balances are not freely exchangeable.

OTY is the onchain settlement token. Serving cars, finishing shifts and leveling up do not mint OTY. Player trades transfer existing tokens; optional services spend them. There is no fixed TD/OTY conversion or guaranteed buyer.

Your Station Deed represents the linked station plot. Ownership and transfer rules matter: transferring a deed resets its economic progression under the current game rules.

07 / TRADE WHEN YOU ARE READY

Find a counterparty, not a promise.

Open Company → Player contracts to inspect available markets. Review price, quantity, reservations, fees and wallet requests before confirming. Orders depend on another player’s demand; posting an order is not a completed sale.

Oil Tycoon is currently in beta. Some settlement and bonded-route features remain unavailable until the matching contracts, configuration and verification steps are deployed. A disabled service is not an instruction to send funds elsewhere.

I am stuck. Where should I look first?

No customers accepting? Review Prices. No fueling? Check available stock and Crew equipment condition. A delivery is pending? Wait for unloading. An account action is unavailable? Read the account or market message. Use the “?” button to restart the small in-game walkthrough.

08 / BUILD YOUR OWN WORLD

From one pump to your own district.

Your station is the center of your company. Three expansion plots sit beside it: west, east and behind the station, each connected to the neighborhood streets. Walk there or click an Expand sign to inspect the land. Your buildings and company signs stay at that address, where neighbors can visit. Construction progresses from foundations to a frame and finished building; upgrades add visible equipment, extra space and improved frontage.

Company → Your company district → My station grounds also shows your nearby plots. The first plot requires operating day 40, 70 reputation and 2 completed regional jobs. Land costs TD 4500.00; keep TD 1200.00 for operations. Your initial expansion plots are reserved for your station; another player may buy one later if you list it for sale. Buying TD does not bypass the earned requirements.

The launch city is planned for 500 players across 8 sectors: 512 stations, each with three expansion plots, plus 144 established commercial addresses for later investments. Connected roads let you explore on foot; fast travel brings you to another address in the same city. Nearby buildings load as you approach. Property previews remain read-only whenever purchases are unavailable.

  1. Choose a fixed address. Compare quiet streets, commercial frontage and prime destinations. Each address shows its specialty: cheaper wash openings, café ingredients, freight dispatch or another bounded operating benefit. Match the location to your business, not just its price. The registry prevents duplicate ownership.
  2. Build a business. The first car wash costs TD 1600.00 in addition to land. Construction takes 3 played operating days, not offline time. Your company sign appears at the same address for visitors.
  3. Match your operation to demand. The car wash, café and workshop use the service forecast: five ordinary-location customers on a matching day, two off-cycle. Commercial and prime sites can attract bounded extra walk-ins after good main-station service, but charge more to operate. Café supplies and workshop parts are bought separately.
  4. Plan your daily openings. Begin with one management slot. Service shifts, tanker dispatches and satellite openings share this allowance. You can earn up to three starts per played day; each property starts only once. Pay inputs and running costs before earnings.
  5. Complete the work. Close each service result, resolve satellite customers or collect a completed delivery. Revenue returns to restricted Reserve TD; it does not create OTY.
How do I manage more businesses?

Two daily starts require day 180, 85 reputation and two completed, unlisted businesses. Three require day 420, 93 reputation and three completed, unlisted businesses covering two specialties. Plan service shifts before the first main-station visit; settle earlier results before starting a new day. Stock transfers do not consume management slots.

The finite launch city allows new acquisitions up to 12 addresses per company, four in each region and two prime addresses. Existing holdings are preserved. More city districts require a future release; buying TD does not remove these limits.

The first shared-city release has 144 fixed addresses across three regions and six business blueprints. Your company name and colors appear on your buildings. Nearby plots load together so a growing city does not require rendering every business at once. Every expansion ties up capital; keep the original station supplied while you grow.

What makes each advanced business different?
  • Tanker depot: buy an owned truck for TD 2200.00 after construction. Choose a cargo contract, load real unreserved fuel and pay dispatch costs. The trip advances through played days. Collected revenue includes the fuel you sold, so subtract its cost and truck repairs to understand profit.
  • Fuel terminal: store extra fuel in separate tanks, then transfer it back when the main station needs stock. Empty space creates no free fuel or daily income.
  • Satellite station: transfer real fuel into its tanks, choose retail prices and open a paid shift. Ordinary, commercial and prime locations offer 3, 4 and 6 customer visits respectively, with higher opening costs at busier sites. Customers can accept, reject the price or leave if stock is missing. These are separate from the original station’s customers.
  • Café and workshop: buy small batches of supplies or parts before a shift. Unsold inputs can expire; buying too much ties up working cash.
Can I sell my land or business?

The property market is release-gated. Once enabled, a mature property can be listed at your TD asking price; the listing locks operations and upgrades. Empty its fuel tanks and finish outstanding work first. A completed city sale changes the owner and company sign at the same address, deducts a 3% seller fee and credits restricted operating TD. Purchased TD can fund a purchase; Pending TD and reserved funds cannot. There is no guaranteed buyer or conversion back to OTY.

City properties are offchain company assets, not additional Station Deed NFTs. Selling a Station Deed does not include your separate company properties; operating them requires an active linked station. Existing private district properties can be explicitly registered into matching vacant city addresses when registration is released. Their assets and paid capital are preserved; registration does not grant cash. Never send tokens to a wallet address to bypass a disabled market.
